In Beirut, Syrian construction workers are building a skyscraper while at the same time their own houses at home are being shelled. Cut off from their homeland, they gather at night around a small TV set to get the news from Syria. Tormented by anguish and anxiety, while suffering the deprivation of the most basic human and workers right, they keep hoping for a different life.

After the sudden death of Michael Glawogger in April 2014, his longstanding collaborator and editor Monika Willi realizes a film out of the footage Glawogger shot over the course of 4months and 19 days in the Balkans, Italy, North and West Africa. A journey out into the world with open eyes and open mind - observing, listening, experiencing.
